Pondicherry in Pictures

Pondicherry isn't just about the rocky beach sans the sands, quite unlike Namma Madras. Honestly, this is a place I wanted to write a post about. However I am so lost in its beauty, that words come a cropper. So why not a photo essay, methought!

Hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did, while clicking!

Walls on road wearing a formal grey and white

The classic yellow and white

A parked bicycle

Wish we could have these in Namma Madras

India Post near the Aurobindo Ashram

Bleu, Blanc et Rouge - The French Flag stands tall near the Secretariat Office

Could roads get any cleaner?

When streets and roads soak in French, just like wine

The Sacred Heart Basilica Church, M.G. Road, Pondicherry

Humble beginning - The Grand Bazar

Pit-stopping for filter coffee at KBS 'Kofi' Bar

Of reds, whites and yellows - Grand Bazar

Floral sprawl

Heaps and heaps

Nasal influence

Jamandhi pookal

So very Western - like hot cross buns!

Sudden shift in era - we still have typewriters!

Notary services

This one was a total surprise - a box like place with not enough space to even stand. This man's busy at work on a late Saturday afternoon.

And so was the tailor busy!

The cops stop by for a juice - their caps, that's what this picture is for!

Yamaha

I am sure this is a lovely siesta he's enjoying!

Beware of Dogs!

Because junk jewelry could never get boring!

Oui, Rendez-vous!

A house can't look prettier

Hanging paper garden - beautiful bougainvillea!

Pretty pinks!

Fresh catch at the backwaters of Chunnambar
